I think everyone should check out the current pole that www.globaltechatlas.info has running and seriously consider the ramifications of having something like that out there on a site that is so popular.
In short, because there is only one server, they have realized how easy it would be to single ppl out for certain things and then publicly labeling them a douch bag. By publicly i mean on the site not in game. But think about it for a little bit, think about how it could be abused, think about how some ppl say things that they later regret, or have had a little to much to drink, or were just having a bad day. Think about how the real douch bags out there, LOVE being douch bags and would only be glorified by being awarded with this. Think about what you would do if you logged on to their site, and saw that so and so has earned this weeks douch bag award...what would you do? would you add that person to your ignore list making it potentially impossible for that person to find a group...what if they didn't do anything wrong and were just "shamed" by a guild who decided they didn't like that person, and so nominated them for the douch bag award. Would you be at least a little wary of playing with someone who had been labeled a douch bag? i know i would be. But i would honestly rather get to know a person, and then decide for myself if they were a douch bag.
I understand that this may have been thought up "all in good fun" or a way to "keep ppl on the server in line" but i think the site owners failed to think this one all the way through. ppl pay for the experience they have in this game, and they have (directly or indirectly) taken it upon themselves to determine who gets to have a good experience. There is just way to much abuse that could...no WOULD come from this and i want the whole Fallen Earth community to be aware of it....because so far, in the pole, the YES's are beating the NO's and i know there are good ppl out there, so please...all of you good ppl...ppl who can shrug off the douch baggyness of others, ppl who don't want to be singled out for simply getting on the wrong side of some clan and then being added to everyone's ignore list...go vote NO...because it could be you...

Well, the problem with anything like this is that there are two sides to every story. Is Canyontrader going to be the moderator between the two or simply judge based on how well someone can spin their side of it without bothering to hear from the other? And can we even trust him, or his staff, to even be impartial?
Personally, I feel its a bad idea, but not because I don't want douchebags named, they'll out themselves easily enough, but because if someone gets put on there that doesn't deserve to be on there, then they're pretty much screwed.

Dont be a fecking douche,simples.
.........Does google search to see how many people dont like other people.................oh wow everyone hates Bill Gates.
Regardless of what you,i,or the stalker looking in the window thinks, we do not pay for GlobalTechAtlas,we do not pay the admins on that site,we do not pay the guys who submit a lot of their own time and gameplay to fill out databases of items, or map towns ect.
What they do with their site is there own buisness, not anyone elses.

My opinion on this from the proper thread made by Atlas staff: http://forums.fallenearth.com/fallen...3&postcount=25

It's a terrible idea.
In fact, if they do go this route, I'd never recommend this site to anyone again. They are the only kid on the block ... FOR NOW. However, that will change and all they will do with this type of crap is marginalize what little objectivity they have.
So go ahead GlobalAtlas, and chop off the proverbial hand that feeds you, and watch those page hit numbers plummet. Go be the site that trys to police a community in your "infinite wisdom" , the road to ruin is paved with good intentions....

It is simply more data for players. The internet allows horrible behavior because of anonymity. This would simply shine a light on the offenders. Frankly, until FE creates ingame metrics that expose elements general player behavior, this is a useful alternative. While I tend to trust Canyon's judgment, his is simply A voice. Not definitive. No direct consequences.
He will have an incentive to "get it right" as his credibility is at stake with every declaration. I also suspect he will provide a forum for those accused to defend their actions and/or correct the record.
I vote yes.

Nothing useful about it.
There is already a ingame device to report players violating the CoC/EULA... and from what I've seen the GMs are quick to stamp this crap out. Report player violations and leave it to the people who get paid and have the tools to actually PROVE it.
The sheer stupidity of this idea is mind boggling, especially if they want to remain a resource site for the FE community. The mere fact they are even thinking about this has already turned me off and I won't be going back to their site ever again.

It's a shame because his site is useful, but tainting it with this nonsense doesn't help anyone other than the epeens of a few individuals. It's really very stupid, I hope he doesn't do it. I made sure to vote no. They should just offer advice as to what to do if you find yourself in a certain situation rather than naming names. I can't believe this is actually a serious topic of discussion, it's a sad day for GlobalTechATLAS. I won't use the site anymore if this passes, sorry but I just don't believe in giving him the power to be judge and jury over people's reputations. Star Chamber Justice anyone?
This seems like it's just one giant stunt to get more traffic to his site which is really very sad. It's also even more sad that this many people voted yes, Welcome to the PersonalInsecuritypse.

Actually this seems to be an attempt to drive more traffic to his site, which is his right.
Still I won't be visiting his site anymore. I am strongly against witch hunts such as these.
