Hey everyone. As I said, I would give Fallen Earth an honest review. Well, here it is!!! The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Where better to start then the tutorial?

Tutorial:

Educational value:
This is by far the most important part of any tutorial. How much it teaches you about the game and how to play it. Unfortunately though, the Fallen Earth tutorial was mediocre at best concerning Educational value. While it did teach you how to fight(melee and ranged combat), move, recognize a quest marker on the map, use skills on your hotkey bar, and interact with both people and objects in the game, it never went in depth with any of them more then "Stab this guy with your axe, talk to this person to buy a power core, click on this keypad to move the elevator" etc. Then again, for some people, this could be seen as a good thing. The tutorial teaches you the most basic aspects of game play, but nothing advanced or how to do the basic's well. Its quite a "find your own way" type tutorial other then the minimap markers for your missions.
Overall, I give the Tutorial's Educational value: 5/10

Gaming experience:
Almost as crucial as the Educational value of a tutorial is the gaming experience you get during it. Wether it's enjoyable or about as much fun as playing with a stick is crucial to a tutorials success. I'm happy to say, the Fallen Earth tutorial DOES Deliver a thrilling and exciting adventure. It has a great storyline, lots of combat to keep you busy during your quest for knowledge, and wonderful voice for the NPC's, giving it a rather personal touch if I may say so.
Overall, I give the Tutorial's Gaming Experience: 10/10

Game World Information:
Not crucial but still a warm and welcome addition to any MMO Tutorial/beginning is the information you gain about the Game world and it's major players. For Fallen Earth, this would be the factions; The Tech's, The Enforcer's, The CHOTA, The Lightbearer's, The Traveler's, and the Vista's. Unfortunately, the tutorial introduces very little world information and only scrapes the VERY surface of each faction, giving very little information about them besides their most BASIC principles. The Tutorial DOES succeed in managing to introduce all of the factions though, and it does explain the whole "clone" part of the game which comes in to context dozen's of times later on in the game, making this part of the Tutorial half decent.
Edit: I was reminded by HangfirE that there's an ingame video right after the tutorial that I would still include as part of the tutorial, and for this and the information I'm told the video contains, I'm bumping the overall ranking for this section from 6/10 to 8/10. Good job Icarus!!
Overall, for the Game world information portion of the tutorial, I give it a 8/10

For the Above Reason's and there rating's, overall, I give the Tutorial a :7.5/10

It's a cool tutorial and for those of you who like to just get out there and learn more then just the game's basics on your own, this is the perfect tutorial for you. But if you prefer a much more layed out and informative tutorial, while not being exactly what you're looking for, this tutorial will give you an ok start on the game.

Next in line is the Combat system!! Note, from here on in, this is about the whole game, not just simply the tutorial.

Combat:
Skills: Combat has many many many different skills from pistol whipping to powerful melee attacks to magnificent mutations giving the game something for everyone in the line of combat skills. It also gives you a simple, easy to use,handi-dandy hotkey bar to put your skills onto, making it possible to both keep aim on your target while you click 2 to smash his teeth out with the butt of your rifle. The downside to this is, skills aren't just skills. They're neccasary for combat or else it's really boring and take's forever to kill anything higher level then you.
So, due to the great variety of skills, and the easy to use hotkey bar for them, but the NEED of skills in combat,I give it a: 8/10

Aggression(Aggro):
Coming soon.

Ranged combat:
Coming soon.

Melee Combat:
Coming soon.

Graphics:
Coming soon.

Game performance:
Coming soon.

Crafting:
Coming soon.

Originality:
Coming soon.

There is a HUGE ammount of gaming features to explore, so I'll gradually update this page over the next day or two to finish up these sections and there sub sections. Bold and red means its a main section, Plain writing followed by : is a sub section. A sections rating will be based on its sub sections rough average rating. Feel free to comment on anything you agree or disagree with.

Ok, for the moment, I'm gonna use this post for extra information that doesnt fit above and for a section i'm going to call:
URBAN MYTHS!!!!
In this section I will bring up a common urban myth about the game(your character moves like a brick, the graphics are horrible etc etc) and mention if they are true or not, and why so.

As well as player requested questions. Anyone not in the beta is welcome to post a question and I'll answer it to the best of my ability.

Now, with no further a-due,
URBAN MYTH #1
"The graphics resemble half life 1 and 2" I deem this myth, FALSE!!
Anyone who's played and isn't just trolling knows the game graphics are excellent. I only play on medium graphic settings and, not just for an mmo, but in general, the graphics blew me away. I'm not sure what Low quality graphics are though, and those may be resemblant of half life 1 or 2, but if so, would someone who is NOT a mystical troll please correct me on this?

URBAN MYTH #2
"The game world's empty" This myth is completely FALSE!!
The game world might feel slightly empty, but no matter where you go there's bush's and shrub's, broken cars or pitched tent's, critters and NPC mob's, resource nodes, lots of random encampment's, telephone poles following the road. Just, tons and tons and tons of stuff. So yes, it may feel empty, which is good cuz it matches the game setting and feeling, but it is NOT actually empty.

URBAN MYTH #3
"My character moves like a brick " This myth is FALSE!!
The character animations are quite fluent, far better then half life 2's movements which DO move like a brick. Oddly enough though, It does appear as if Icarus has stolen WoW's Draenie jumping animation and is using it themselves.

I actually like the fact they didn't go too in depth mainly because there's so much going on and alot of people just want to get over it and the information can be overwhelming, ive heard this alot of times playing games. Many people get overwhelmed when alot of information is thrown there way in a small timeline and kinda just frustrates you. In my opinion the tutorial is simple and to the point and is good enough to get you started so i like it.

There may be a good chance that some of the history will be covered by an intro movie in the release version.

Actually, now that i think about it, there was an intro movie right when u finish the tutorial...its just that my comps ram doesnt even meet minimuim requirements so it lagged so bad during the video i dont even know 1/10th of what was said XD

Oddly enough though, the game runs fine for me with only 1.5 gigs of ram on windows XP.

The tutorial is crap. Sure it does fine with letting you tinker around with how stuff is at level 40, but they could have just as easily made unique tutorial items at level 1 that serve the same purpose. It does little to "teach" you the game outside of their hints box, and even then it's a lot to take in.

After the tutorial, you go into towns and then "learn" how to play from there, only you get no direction in those towns as well. The enforcer towns are decent as you get to kill NPCs for quests and that's always fun. the crafting towns leave little in how items are found, and node are so haphazardly tossed around that you don't know where the crap things are. Node make entirely NO sence.

Hope you can stomach this more than I can. I simply give up.

Wasteland, PM me with you're ingame name and we'll set up a time to play together, and I can teach you the basics if you want. The game's pretty fun if you learn how to play.
