to get to the launch part in updater. It got to "collecting local info" and stopped responding, then negotiating and stopped responding, then the third time it made it theough

Seems like restarting the launch app fixes a few weird problems. My download started trickling to 10k/s and after running all night, performed a restart now its going full speed again.

I had the same issues. Just have to keep an eye on it every 10 minutes or so and cancel/restart. Eventually I finished the d/l (I think... I hope) and you get to the log in screen where it tells ya the game is locked until the start time today.
